Ephesians 3:20-21

20Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen

The Lord has really been dealing me regarding abundance and how I view it. To be quite honest I really didn’t view it in respect to myself. To me abundance was unattainable, not applicable. Temporarily it was something that I did not even desire. It was PRIDE!

We know “ABUNDANCE” to mean excess, or, a large quantity of a thing right? Its an overflow, a steady stream of a thing. Matter of fact, it is so much of something that even though you give a portion of it away, its immediately refilled.

IS THAT NOT AWESOME!  Who wouldn’t want abundance? Why settle for just enough or even more than enough when there is an abundance of a thing. And abundance my friends is NOT PRIDE! Its a blessing, a gift, and a privilege. I found myself repenting for thinking so small and lowly of the ability of my father. His word clearly says that he is ABLE to do EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY MORE…My menial mind can not even fathom all that he is able to give me, pour into me, supply me with; supply YOU with!

In all my new found excitement and revelation, I read the second part of the verse…according to the power at work within us…wait hold on. Is he saying that his ability to do abundant things for me is conditional? YES! It is conditional to what we allow to work with in us. What are you operating in or out of? What are your motives and reasons? What power is with in you? Is Jesus with in you? His word says that he has come that we may have life and life more ABUNDANTLY!  (JOHN 10:10)

Stay tuned for Part 2….

Thank you for giving us a new outlook on life. A new outlook on the things that you have in store for us and the design that you have for us. Thank you for your abundance that you give so freely. Help us to understand that the abundance that we seek should not be that of the things of this world but of the things of you. Let our desires be for the things of you and your will and purpose for our lives….
