Alone in His Presence

Sunday the minister challenged me and well, I have to tell you about it. He made a point to ask how much time have we really spent in the presence of God. I know I tend to think that I spend time with him, I can’t say a good bit of time, but time just the same.  However if we think about the disciples that walked with him for those three years of his ministry, I must honestly say that I don’t spend nearly enough time with him at all. Just think, they literally were in his presence day and night. They ate with him, slept with him, talked with him and waited on him. I mean really, in all the years that I have been apart of his kingdom, I am left shaking my head at the fact that I don’t spend nearly enough time, and the time that I do spend well is does not equate to the the undivided time they had with him. The disciples didn’t have to worry about family, or food, or work. They simply followed where he led. What he said do they did. Sure there were your doubting Thomas’s and your hard headed Peter’s of it all but they truly had quality time with him.

Friends, I long to be in place where I can convene with him day and night just like that.  Now I challenge you, just how much time and what quality of time are you spending with the Lord?

Do You Remember the Times???

Today I have had Michael Jackson’s Remember the Times stuck in my head. I have been singing all day. It made more and more sense to me when my mother and I started reflecting on my Grandmother’s life. Next, I read this post by a really good friend of mine. It started to sink in even more. Today, I want you to reflect on your relationship with God. Do you remember the times that he was there for you, that he brought you out of trial and tribulation?  What about something simpler like the Holyghost bringing the information that you studied back to your remembrance for that midterm you had. Better yet, when God comforted you as your 1lb 9oz baby lay in NICU fighting for her life. Yea, I remember the times. I remember when I first fell in love with Jesus. I had experienced him and I mean truly experienced him. I remember crying out before him and releasing so much hurt and anger and him covering me with so much love and compassion. I was 15 years old, and I remember it like yesterday.

Sit back and think on the goodness of God and all that he has done for you, then reflect back to that moment when he truly became Lord of your life.

Micah Stampley – Holy Visitation

This song by far is one of my favorites. I don’t think that it can be described, only experienced. I remember the first time my praise team ever sang this song. God moved so heavily during praise that morning. Amazing isn’t even sufficient enough of a word to describe the experience. I can truly say that I was made for war and I war with my praise!!!  Enjoy this experience!!!!
