Re-Identify Me

One of the words God shared with me tonight was Re-Identify. Its time for us to go back and revisit some things, to look again and to see how time has changed it. How time has caused it to grow and mature and how it is no longer what we thought it was. No longer weak, feeble  Insecure, immature, beat down, prideful, sinful, neglectful and disobedient. Its is now stronger, bigger, reproductive, efficient, courageous…the list can go on and on. We are not the same people that we were when God first visited our lives.  It is time for us to be re-identified.

This was the result of a meditation on the book of Genesis. I took note of how many names he changed, how he gave the parents their children’s name, and as they grew up re-named them, and even how the wells were renamed, and re-identified as what they originally were.

Sometimes the re-identification is not a re-naming or a name change, it can be just a mere reminder of who you are, what God has called you to be. Just like those wells that had to be re-dug because dirt thrown back in them….people will do the same to us. They will try to make us be what we were in the past, what we started off as and not what we have became….

You are called you are chosen you are a royal priesthood and a holy nation.  Goodbye Jacob!  No more tricking, no more lying, no more sneaking….Hello Israel, the promise!  The result of obedience, the covenant!
