Almost Finished

Well, we are coming to the last week of the month, and I have learned so much about discipline. I am wrapping up all my August Challenges and will update the photo challenge with pictures. Saturday will be my 1 month blogging anniversary and I am so excited. Not only that, I will start a new focus. I am not sure what it will be yet, but I am sure that it is going to be good. Forgive my tardiness on the daily blogs, but weekends are family time and I have been under the weather so not at the computer much. I have a fever as I type now. With that being said, I shall rest.

Until next time,

You can make it!

To be completely honest with you, I have fallen off the wagon so many times with disciplining my body as well as my house. I have it together one week and then I am too tired to do a task when I get home so I skip a day and I am forever playing catch up. Am I ashamed, disappointed, embarrassed? Disappointed yes, the others, absolutely not. I see this as a learning process. It is not something that I have all together (yet), but a goal that I am reaching for. My bought with discipline is much like our Christian walk. A process. There will be pitfalls, stumbles, obstacles, and anything that the enemy can throw in our way. But once again Jesus Saves!!!! He helps lead and guide us and he is there to dust us off when we fall. You will only loose if you give up. Keep moving forward and don’t stop until you reach your goal. So if you are doing this challenge with me, I encourage you to keep going! You can do this!!!!

The race is not given to the swift nor the battle to the strong but to the one who endures to the end!

Why I do What I do

It is so easy to become distracted by what’s going on around you and so easy to become a part of this world. We are to be in this world but not a part of it. We can do the same things but with a different heart, motive, and goal. (1 Cor 9:24).

24Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. 25Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. 27But I discipline my body and keep it under control,b lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified

I don’t know about you but I want to make it in. Not just make it in but I want to hear him say that he is proud of me that I have completed my assignment and that I finished the race successfully. I don’t want to help others make it in and remain on the outskirts myself. Let’s get our bodies, our flesh, our souls under control so that we don’t disqualify ourselves.

Love ya

All Things to All Men

Is it safe to say that I am who you want me to be if that is what it will take to win you to Christ? 1 Cor 9:19-22 – The catch in this scripture is “as”. Are you willing to become “as” another to win their soul? Are you willing to become “as” a toddler to reach your child, to think “as” a teenager to reach the upcoming generation? To think “as” the unsaved? To be “as” a servant? After all, you do want them to be “as” you are right? Free from all!

For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. 20To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. 21To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. 22To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. 23I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.

As I am

Life is short

It’s time to live life on purpose. Let’s not let life take us by storm but let’s take life by storm. My mom made a profound statement that we are natural born warriors. Look at all it takes to bring a child into the world. Let’s not let life beat us up and throw us around. The time we have here on earth is too short for that. Dream, live, breathe and maximize your time. Enjoy the little things. Life has no do overs so make it count!

Shifting the Atmosphere

So today as I was waiting to hear what to blog about today I simply heard God say that he wanted me. Just me. I find it so amazing that we have a God who is so big, and is omnipresent, and omniscient but still desires to have a personal one on one relationship with us. We are able to go right into his chambers where he waits for us and we can commune with him. There is absolutely nothing like the presence of God. The peace and the comfort and the liberty that is unexplainable. Sometimes you don’t even have to say a word or make a sound, just to be in his presence is enough. On days like today when I am at such a loss for direction or guidance, I can turn on my music and immediately be transferred into his presence. Its simply amazing! If you don’t know this kind of relationship and desire to have it, all you have to do is ask. Salvation and a relationship with Jesus is a gift. Won’t you accept it? All you have to do is admit that you are a sinner and that you want Jesus to save you from your sins, repent for your sins. Confess/believe that he is the son of God, that he died on the cross for you and that he rose up. Invite him into your life. That’s all it takes to be shifted from this atmosphere to HIS atmosphere. I promise you its one change that you will never forget.

Lord Jesus, I have sinned and I truly deserve death for all that I have done. However, I now know that you have paid the price for my sins when you died on the cross for me. You defeated death when you arose with all power in your hands and with it you gave me the gift of eternal life. Today Lord, I ask you to come into my life and dwell in me. I accept your gift of eternal life today. Thank You Jesus…

Day Starter

Do you remember when you were in school and before class would start the teacher would have a day starter on the board? It was an assignment, maybe 3 questions for you to think about or for you to respond to and turn in? The purpose of doing those was to get the mind focused on the subject at hand, to free it of any unnecessary “clutter” from the bus/car ride, hallway drama, or the previous class. It seemed pointless but it was needed.

How many times has God wanted to be the start of our day but we said it was pointless? Matt 6:33 says to seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God….See he wants to start your day and why not let him? after all he already knows how it is going to end.

I have been pondering on ways to start my day with Jesus. Here are a few suggestions:

~Alarm set to radio – Christian Station ( there is nothing like Praise and Worship! Its an awesome way to start the day. Getting right into his presence)
~Prayer and Thanksgiving (verbal or written, alone or with the family)
~Reading the bible or devotions
~Reading the word of God you have placed on your wall or on your mirror

And just in case you can’t fit this into your wake-up routine, or if you are a night owl like me and just waking up is a task, pray and sing on the drive to work, or to drop the kids off at school. Either way you do it or whatever you do, let is start and end with GOD!!!

Prayer Starter:
Lord you are so amazing! Everyday you present us with a gift that we are so undeserving of and we often times take it for granted. Today we say no more. Today we will put you at the start of our day before anything is able to distract and deter us….

Good Morning!
